Welcome to the ONLINE home of Connections, the monthly newsletter of ideas and reflections for homilists and preachers.

As well as complete subscription information on Connections, you'll find a sampling of stories and meditations from past issues that you might want to use in your homily in the weeks ahead.

The most popular feature on the site is This Sunday's Gospel: exegetical notes and suggested homily points on the Gospel for this Sunday. Bookmark the page and check it every week as you prepare your homily/sermon.

You'll also find information on special issues -- collections of stories, meditations and reflections on single topics and themes. Issues currently available in this series include Baptism, Confirmation/the Spirit of God, the Eucharist, Reconciliation, Marriage/Weddings, Masses for the Dead/Funeral Liturgies, and stewardship -- and our newest additions to the series: 'Two Become One in Christ' 2, a second collection of stories and reflections on the Sacrament of Marriage; and Like Incense Rising, O Lord, meditations on prayer, liturgy and thanksgiving. Also available are special issues for the weekdays of Advent and Lent (previous issues are still available).

The site also includes other resources published by MediaWorks, information on retreats and preaching workshops, and practical advice and help for effectively communicating the Word of God in your homily.

Check out Jay's Blog to participate in our ongoing discussion with the editor of Connections about the preaching craft and the ministry of communications..

Your suggestions, ideas and questions are always welcome and appreciated.

May the Christ who taught in parables bless and inspire you in your ministry as a communicator of the Father's Word to God's people!
